Protests have started in Kathmandu after the death of Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal in India. Nepali students at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) were expelled following peaceful protests demanding justice.
In response, student groups in Nepal gathered outside the Indian Embassy, calling for justice and the safety of Nepali students in India. Lawmakers also raised concerns in parliament, but a request to discuss the issue was denied.
The Nepali Embassy in India is in contact with authorities to ensure student safety. Activists have launched online campaigns to seek justice for Lamsal.
