Kathmandu, Nepal – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will visit Lumbini Province on February 5, 2025, to deliver a special address at the Lumbini Provincial Assembly. The Prime Minister’s visit, confirmed by officials on Friday, includes a packed schedule with key events aimed at discussing development plans and policies for the region.

Prime Minister Oli is expected to speak at the provincial assembly hall, where he will outline the government’s priorities for Lumbini Province, including infrastructure upgrades, healthcare improvements, and educational reforms. His speech follows a formal invitation extended by Lumbini Assembly Speaker Tularam Gharti under the provincial assembly’s procedural rules.

Following his address, the Prime Minister will travel to Ghorahi later on February 5 to attend a public program focused on local issues. The next day, February 6, he will participate in a senate meeting at the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences to discuss strategies for advancing medical education and healthcare services in the region.

Speaker Tularam Gharti emphasized the importance of the Prime Minister’s visit, stating, “This is a valuable opportunity for our province to hear directly from the national leadership. His insights will guide collaborative efforts between the federal and provincial governments.”

Political analysts suggest the Prime Minister’s speech could signal new policies for provincial governance and national development. The visit is also seen as a chance to address regional concerns, such as job creation, road connectivity, and access to quality healthcare and education in Lumbini.

The event has drawn attention from citizens, lawmakers, and students alike, with many awaiting clarity on how the federal government plans to support the province’s growth. Officials have coordinated closely to ensure the Prime Minister’s schedule accommodates both his provincial assembly address and engagements in Ghorahi and Rapti Academy.

As February 5 approaches, security arrangements and logistical preparations are underway in Lumbini to facilitate the Prime Minister’s visit and ensure smooth proceedings.
