Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has unveiled a new initiative to significantly improve the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) pass rate to 70% across Nepal. Speaking at the 29th convocation of Kathmandu University, where he also serves as chancellor, PM Oli emphasized the importance of online education in achieving this goal.
The Prime Minister announced that the government is rolling out special online classes in key subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science, targeting students nationwide. "We’ve already begun the work to ensure that at least 70% of students pass the SEE," Oli stated, stressing the need for equal educational opportunities for all students.
This move comes in response to concerns over the current SEE pass rate, which hovers around 50%. By leveraging digital platforms, the government hopes to bridge the educational gap, especially in rural areas, and improve overall student performance.
During the convocation, PM Oli also encouraged graduates to use their education to contribute positively to society, highlighting the broader vision of the government to strengthen the nation's educational foundation.
With this new initiative, the government aims to set a new benchmark for educational success in Nepal, making quality education more accessible to all students.
