Shikshya Foundation Nepal, led by Nepali-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung, collaborates with Kathasatha to host this initiative. The workshop aims to nurture local storytelling talent and equip writers with skills to craft compelling narratives.

Bhavani Iyer's notable works in Indian cinema include acclaimed films such as Black, Guzaarish, Lootera, Raazi, and Sam Bahadur. She debuted in screenwriting with Black and has contributed to web series like Kaafir, Breathe: Into the Shadows, and The Empire.

Her upcoming film, Kamal Aur Meena, produced by Saregama, is generating buzz. Iyer has also worked on Lori, a film produced by Salman Khan and Atul Agnihotri, directed by Meghna Gulzar. Beyond screenwriting, she has served as editor of Stardust magazine and authored the novel Anon.

This workshop offers Nepali writers a valuable opportunity to learn from Iyer's expertise in storytelling and character development. As South Asian cinema gains global recognition, such initiatives are crucial in shaping Nepal's film industry.
